Liverpool persist with efforts to sign winger after first bid rejected

Not giving up

Liverpool are persisting with their efforts to sign Roma winger Mohamed Salah.

The Reds had a £28million bid rejected by Roma earlier this month but Jurgen Klopp is still determined to sign the Egyptian.

Salah, formerly of Chelsea, is thought to be high on the German’s summer wish list. Roma, however, are looking for a fee closer to the £40million region, the Echo are reporting.

Summer targets

Liverpool have already completed the signing of Chelsea teenager Dom Solanke.

The 19-year-old was the stand out performer at the recent Under 20 World Cup, which England won.

Virgil van Dijk was another target of the club before Liverpool’s pursuit of the defender went pear-shaped.

Jurgen Klopp is evidently intent on bolstering all areas of his squad which finished 4th in the Premier League last season.

Rumoured with a move away from Anfield, Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho has remained coy on his future at the club.
