Liverpool, Man United & Jean Michael Seri
One of the transfer rumours carried across the tabloids on Sunday is the following.
Liverpool and Man United are set off against each in the race for Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri.
Depending on which publication you read, Tottenham and Arsenal are also in the mix for the 26-year-old Nice star.
Jean Seri has been linked with a Premier League move for more than a year. So will that come this summer?
The Mail on Sunday spin the Seri story as follows:
Liverpool have emerged as favourites to sign Nice’s £35million midfielder Jean Michael Seri as Jurgen Klopp looks for Emre Can’s replacement.
Klopp is keen on bolstering his midfield ranks after securing Leipzig’s Naby Keita in the summer and is now edging rivals Manchester United in the race to sign the highly-rated Nice enforcer.
Seri is under contract in Nice until 2019. That means there’s pressure on the Ligue 1 side to sell Seri this summer if they don’t want him to leave for free.
Jean Michael Seri & Nice
This season, in 22 Ligue 1 games for Nice, Seri has scored once and chipped in with four assists.
Last season the Ivory Coast international scored seven times in the league and added nine assists.
Jorginho & Liverpool
But is Jean Seri really a Liverpool target?
In recent days the rumour which has gone around Liverpool is that Brazilian-born Italian international Jorginho is the number one target for Liverpool this summer.
26-year-old Jorginho is under contract at Napoli until 2020.
Jorginho has made 28 appearances under Maurizio Sarri at the Stadio San Paolo this season and has been an integral part of the club’s push for a first Serie A title in 31 years.
