Alexis Sanchez & Arsenal
Will Alexis Sanchez ever play for Arsenal again?
After Sunday’s FA Cup defeat away at Nottingham Forest, Sanchez may wish to keep his distance from the Gunners.
Alexis was left out of Arsenal’s squad for the trip to the City ground.
Arsene Wenger rotated his squad significantly as they lost to the Championship side.
Of course, Alexis Sanchez only has six months remaining on his Arsenal deal.
After that the Chilean can leave the Emirates Stadium for free. That’s lead many to speculate that Arsenal could sell Sanchez in January in order to recoup a transfer fee.
Liverpool vs Man City
On Monday, the London Evening Standard have an update on Alexis Sanchez and his Arsenal future.
The local London news outlet have claimed that Liverpool may challenge Man City for the South American star:
Liverpool could revive their interest, having tried to sign him when he left Barcelona for Arsenal in 2014, with money to spend following the £142million sale of Philippe Coutinho to the Catalan club.
The more likely scenario is that Man City will swoop for Alexis this month.
Man City have a need to sign a striker in the new year after Gabriel Jesus was injured at Crystal Palace.
Jesus is now set to be sidelined for the best part of six weeks.
Considering Man City are still in the running for four trophies this season, could Pep Guardiola move for the Arsenal star? The Standard report:
City are set to test Arsenal’s resolve over keeping Alexis by making a concerted effort to sign the forward this month.
Arsenal are believed to be demanding around £40m for Sanchez but City believe a deal can be struck for less.
