Liverpool have made contact to sign OGC Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram, as per FootballTransfers.
Khephren Thuram is the son of former France international Lilian Thuram and the brother of Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram, who himself is being linked with a move to Chelsea this month.
The 21-year-old – who is valued at around £22m by Transfermarkt – still has two and a half years left in his current contract so Nice are in a strong position to ask for a big fee to sell their star man.
Thuram joined current side OGC Nice in 2019 from AS Monaco.
He has since made 94 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit, during which time he has scored six goals.
Thuram, unlike his brother, is a central midfielder by trade. Liverpool are in desperate need of some fresh legs in the middle of the park.
However, Jordan Henderson, Thiago, James Milner and Fabinho are all struggling to provide this in 2022/23, largely because they are all 30+ years of age – barring Fabinho who is 29.
