Leon Bailey, Chelsea & Liverpool
German magazine Kicker have spoken to Jamaican international and Bayer Leverkusen forward Leon Bailey.
According to Kicker, Bailey is a target for Premier League sides Chelsea and Liverpool.
AS Roma are also interested in signing the 20-year-old attacker.
Indeed, while Bailey stopped short of mentioning either Chelsea or Liverpool by name, the Bayer star has admitted:
There’s a lot of interest. What I can say is that my full focus is on developing myself as a young player, and that’s what I focus on.
If a club wants me, my management and Bayer 04 will take care of it.
Who is Leon Bailey?
2017-18 was a breakout year for Leon Bailey. Bailey scored nine goals and chipped in with seven assists for Bayer Leverkusen last term in the Bundesliga.
According to reports, Bailey has a 58 million euros release clause in his Bayer contract.
Bailey is under contract with his German employers until 2022.
Rather than looking for a move to either Chelsea or Liverpool, Bailey told Kicker about his ambitions for the upcoming Bundesliga season:
Even though we finished fifth, we had as many points as the third. We want to play for the title. There is no limit.
Bayer Leverkusen kick off their new German league season on August 28 with an away trip to Borussia Moenchengladbach.
In that interview Leon Bailey also confirms that there has been interest by #Roma, #Chelsea and #LFC this summer. He also does not want to make any promises about staying with the club beyond August 9 when the transfer window closes in England (kicker).
