Leicester transfer news

In this article we will cover all of today’s Leicester City transfer news.

Youri Tielemans wants Liverpool switch

The first bit of news could prove to be something of a blow for Leicester City.

Leicester signed Youri Tielemans permanently in the summer of 2019. The Belgian has since established himself as a key cog in Brendan Rodgers’ side, notching up 108 appearances in all competitions, across which he has scored 17 and assisted 19.

However, recent months have seen Tielemans linked with Liverpool.

The Reds have lost Georginio Wijnaldum after the midfielder joined PSG on a free transfer, and Tielemans, on paper at least, looks like a decent replacement for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

It was previously reported that Leicester were hoping Tielemans will sign a new contract and pledge his future to the club this summer.

However, a fresh report stemming from Belgium claims that Tielemans is pushing for a move to Liverpool.

The midfielder is said to have made it known to all parties involved that he wishes to make the switch to Anfield.

Benitez eyeing Perez reunion

Another potential outgoing we could see at the King Power this summer appears to be Ayoze Perez.

Perez enjoyed a decent debut campaign with the Foxes, but would then only score three goals in 36 outings last term.

Now, Everton have been linked with a move for the Spaniard. Rafa Benitez is now, of course, in charge of the Toffees and has worked with Perez during his Newcastle stint.

Leicester eyeing defensive reinforcements

Finally, Leicester have been linked with a move for a central defender.

The Leicester Mercury report that after strengthening in midfield and up top, Brendan Rodgers and co. are now looking to add depth at centre-back.

And among the names linked has been Sebastian Caceres, who is a 21-year-old central defender currently plying his trade in Mexico with CF América.

A potential fee of around £20m has been touted when it comes to signing Caceres.
