Leeds tipped to swoop for pair of Liverpool attackers

Speculation in the English media this weekend suggests that Leeds United are considering summer moves for Liverpool pair Divock Origi and Rhian Brewster.

Leeds return

Marcelo Bielsa’s men are of course planning for life back in the Premier League.

Following a 16-year absence from the top-tier of English football, Leeds booked their spot back in the big time last month.

A superb campaign on the part of the Whites eventually saw them top the Championship table, an impressive 10 points clear of runners-up West Brom.

Reds pair targeted

With the dust having now settled on Leeds’ lengthy title celebrations, though, attentions have switched to building a squad capable of holding its own amongst Premier League opposition over the season ahead.

A whole host of players have already been tipped as potential arrivals at Elland Road, with Brighton’s Ben White known to be a long-standing target.

Elsewhere, an Argentine influx has also been touted, with the likes of Emiliano Martinez, Sergio Romero, Juan Foyth, Thiago Almada and Nicolas Gonzalez rumoured targets of fellow countryman Marcelo Bielsa.

And, as outlined above, an insight into the latest pair of possible Peacocks additions this summer have today been forthcoming.

The players in question? Divock Origi and Rhian Brewster.

As per a report from the Mirror, Leeds have identified out-of-favour Liverpool hitman Origi as a backup target, if the club’s pursuit of Celtic star Odsonne Edouard proves unsuccessful.

Significantly, it is added that Origi ‘is open to a move this summer’, in a bid to secure a regular starting berth.

The Whites’ Anfield targets do not end there, though, with the Mirror adding that Rhian Brewster, who lit up the Championship on loan with Swansea this past season, is also being eyed up by Bielsa and co.
