Leeds’ stance on Dan James sale revealed as Cody Gakpo eyed

Dan James was sent off in Leeds' defeat to Chelsea

A fresh insight into the future of Leeds United star Dan James has been provided on Wednesday evening.

Those of a Whites persuasion, of course, will be well aware of the late-window speculation surrounding the name of wide-man James.

This comes after word was forthcoming in the media, altogether out of the blue, that the Welshman could be on the move before the summer is out.

A number of rival Premier League clubs are understood to have enquired as to James’ availability, with Everton - amid ongoing question marks when it comes to the future of Chelsea target Anthony Gordon - particularly keen.

Where, though, do the powers that be at Elland Road stand when it comes to their explosive winger’s potential sale?

Well, as alluded to above, an insight into precisely that has been forthcoming late on Wednesday.

The info comes courtesy of the reliable Phil Hay, who has confirmed that Jesse Marsch and co. have not yet ‘shut the door’ on James’ exit.

This comes despite the former Manchester United man himself being keen to stay put in west Yorkshire for the season ahead.

Should James, in the end, be moved on, though, then Leeds are expected to target PSV Eindhoven star Cody Gakpo as his replacement.
