Leeds confirm fresh Helder Costa departure

The Angolan international has sealed a loan exit for the 2nd year running

The busy summer window being enjoyed by Premier League outfit Leeds United has continued on Sunday.

On the back of a season which saw them narrowly avoid relegation to the Championship last time out, the powers that be at Elland Road have been hard at work, in a bid to sufficiently reinforce Jesse Marsch’s playing ranks.

To this point, no fewer than six players have opted to take their talents to west Yorkshire, key to the Whites’ opening day downing of Wolverhampton Wanderers a little over 24 hours ago.

Outgoings have too been plentiful, though, with star performers Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips having been joined in departing by the likes of Leif Davis, Tyler Roberts and Kiko Casilla.

And now, as alluded to above, yet another exit from Leeds’ first-team ranks has been confirmed.

The latest player to have moved on with a view to the 2022/23 campaign? Helder Costa.

Wide-man Costa, of course, spent last season out on loan away from Elland Road, linking up with La Liga giants Valencia.

And, on Sunday, he has been sent out on a temporary basis once more, on this occasion reuniting with ex-boss Nuno Espirito Santo in Saudi Arabia.

Costa has joined Pro League outfit Al-Ittihad on loan for the coming season, with the deal also understood to feature an option to buy.
