Kane partnership incoming? Sergio Aguero ready to consider Tottenham switch this summer
Word stemming from the English media on Tuesday has pointed towards a surprise Tottenham switch for Manchester City star Sergio Aguero.
‘Going to be emotional…’
The news which Sky Blues fans across the globe were no doubt dreading was of course finally forthcoming last Monday.
This came in the form of confirmation that club icon Aguero’s time at the Etihad is set to come to an end in the summer.
The Argentine has of course long stood as one of the most lethal strikers in English football, and actually boasts, by some distance, the best goals-to-minutes ratio in Premier League history:
📊 Players with the best minutes per goal ratio in Premier League history (min. 50 goals):
🇦🇷 Sergio Aguero – 108
🇫🇷 Thierry Henry – 122
🏴 Harry Kane – 122
🇳🇱 Ruud Van Nistelrooy – 128
🇪🇬 Mohamed Salah – 130— Footy Accumulators (@FootyAccums) March 30, 2021
Aguero was also responsible for what most view as the most iconic moment in the division’s history, in netting a last-second winner versus QPR on the final day of the 2011/12 campaign, to snatch the title away from Manchester United.
Nevertheless, with injuries beginning to catch up with the 32-year-old, and his contract in Manchester due to expire in the summer, the no doubt gut-wrenching decision was eventually made for Aguero and City to go their separate ways upon the completion of the season:
It’s going to be emotional… 💙

Spurs switch?
Swiftly following on the back of the news regarding Aguero, meanwhile, has been widespread speculation surrounding where exactly the Argentine is set to end up next.
A host of clubs are expected to express an interest in his signature in the summer, with the former Atletico Madrid man of course set to be available as a free agent.
The favourites to actually clinch a deal, as things stand, appear to be La Liga giants Barcelona.
Such speculation, though, has not put an end to suggestions that Aguero could yet remain in the Premier League beyond the summer. Chelsea have been hotly tipped as a potential landing spot over the last week, with some outlets having even pointed towards an outlandish move to Old Trafford.

And, as outlined above, on Tuesday, the name of yet another of Manchester City’s domestic rivals has been thrown into the mix.
The outfit in question? Tottenham Hotspur.
The info comes courtesy of the reliable Mike McGrath of the Telegraph, who has confirmed that Aguero would consider linking up with the north Londoners, even if Jose Mourinho’s men miss out on Champions League football.
This comes with the 32-year-old keen to prove himself in the Premier League away from Manchester.
Capital rivals Chelsea are also name-dropped by McGrath as an option for Aguero, even if the Blues, like Spurs, fall short of the top-4 over the weeks ahead.
