Juventus target Chelsea
For so much of the summer, Chelsea have been looking to do deals with Juventus.
Earlier in the off-season, rumours flew about linking Leonardo Bonucci with a possible move to Stamford Bridge.
But rather than choosing Chelsea, Bonucci ended up moving to Serie A rivals AC Milan.
Antonio Conte has also been tracking Alex Sandro all summer. The Juventus left-back, who is valued north of 70 million euros, has so far managed to escape the clutches of the Premier League champions.
But on Thursday the tables have turn.
The Sun are “exclusively” reporting that Juventus are trying to sign Chelsea centre-half Gary Cahill.
Gary Cahill to Juventus
Cahill is currently on the sidelines having been sent off in Chelsea’s 3-2 defeat to Burnley.
Has the England international played his last game for the Blues? The Sun float that as a possibility reporting:
Juventus have made initial contact with Chelsea over a move to sign Gary Cahill.
The Serie A champions are in desperate need of a new centre-back, having lost Leonardo Bonucci to AC Milan.
And sources close to the Bianconeri have told us they are now targeting Cahill, having been alerted to the fact Antonio Conte is unsure how big of a part he will play this season.
Were Cahill to leave Chelsea, Conte would still have David Luiz, Antonio Rugider, Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta at his disposal.
But that’s unlikely to satisfy Conte, who has been reported as being frustrated in the summer as Chelsea have struggled to sign players.
Chelsea v Everton
Following their 2-1 win over Tottenham last weekend, Chelsea take on Everton at home on Sunday.
Gary Cahill will again be out of contentio through suspension, while Eden Hazard remains an injury doubt for the Blues.
Tiemoue Bakayoko, however, should make his second appearance for the club after his summer move from Monaco.
