Leonardo Bonucci to Man United rumours continue
On Wednesday, Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport revealed that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was very keen on signing Leonardo Bonucci from AC Milan.
Whilst the Manchester United defence was strong last season, Bonucci would improve any side in the world and also bring leadership and a commanding presence to the back line.
If Tuttosport are to be believed, Mourinho has been on a charm offensive to sign Bonucci from the Rossoneri, speaking with the player in recent days.
Having failed to make Serie A’s top four, it seems likely that AC Milan will sell Bonucci to boost their summer transfer plans and get a major wage earner off the books.
Mourinho has a bargaining chip for AC Milan
On Thursday, there is an update in Tuttosport regarding Jose Mourinho’s moves to sign Leonardo Bonucci.
Mourinho remains keen on signing the Italian international, as a leader and great personality in the centre of defence.
AC Milan meanwhile, would have to show real ambition in the summer transfer window and are linked with Lyon’s Memphis Depay and PSG’s Edinson Cavani.
The intriguing angle on Depay is that Manchester United have a buy-back option on the former PSV winger.
Memphis Depay enjoyed an excellent season with Lyon, scoring 16 goals in 35 appearances.
Bonucci to Manchester United, Depay to AC Milan??
Could Manchester United’s best option be to buy back Depay from Lyon and then produce a cash-plus-player deal involving Bonucci and the Dutch winger?

On the front page of Tuttosport, we can also see AC Milan’s interest in Depay and Cavani – which in truth looks rather ambitious!
