Joel Lopez says goodbye to Barcelona
A few days ago Lopez also announced his Barcelona exit on Instagram. He wrote:
The day has come to say goodbye to what has been my home these last 7 years. Thanks to Barcelona, it will be the club that I always carry in my heart for wonderful moments that I have lived with my friends, coaches, delegates, executives.
Magnificent people who have made me feel welcome from the first day. It was a difficult decision but after contemplating it with my family I made the decision to go and start a new stage as a footballer with great enthusiasm.
Thanks to all who have been there always Visca Barca!
Lopez, a left back, has been playing for for Barcelona Under-16s.
Arsenal & Barcelona
Joel Lopez is the latest footballer to swap the Camp Nou for north London.
During Arsene Wenger’s time at Arsenal, the Gunners made a habit of prising young talent from Barcelona’s La Masia conveyor belt.
Cesc Fabregas came from Barcelona and became Arsenal captain before returning to the Camp Nou.
Whilst Hector Bellerin has been a fixture in the Arsenal side having gone down the same route.
