Inter Milan have made an alternative plan to try and avoid selling Alessandro Bastoni, according to Tuttosport.

Tottenham Hotspur are very keen to sign the defender this summer, with the Italian centre-back Antonio Conte's top target.

The Nerazzurri need to raise funds this summer and Bastoni could be subject to a large offer from Spurs.

However, the defender is a very popular figure at the San Siro and also a key player.

Therefore, the club is in agreement with manager Simone Inzaghi of seeking a different way to raise funds.

Inter's plan to keep Bastoni

Inzaghi and the club held an important meeting on Monday to finalise transfer plans.

The manager once again reaffirmed his strong desire to keep Bastoni in his squad. He believes that the 23-year-old is a fundamental part of his team.

Inter are fully aware of his request and are looking elsewhere to raise the required €60 million profit.

Denzel Dumfries and Stefan de Vrij are two players who could instead be sold.

Inter value Dumfries at €35 million and de Vrij at €15-20 million.

But now we will have to wait and see whether offers for these two players even arrive and whether selling them will be enough.
