Ivan Perisic & Man United
It’s been a few days since there have been any updates on Man United’s pursuit of Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic.
Last week the 28-year-old Croatian international went on tour with Inter to Asia.
That came as a blow to fans of the Red Devils, who had been lead to believe that Perisic was close to a switch to Old Trafford.
Many United fans see Perisic’s arrival as key to success next season. Having signed Romelu Lukaku from Everton, United need a player in their squad who can whip in crosses from the left for the Belgian.
Perisic could fit that bill nicely.
Inter Milan will sell
Man United’s hopes of landing Perisic have been boosted following fresh quotes from Inter boss Luciano Spalletti.
While Spalletti noted that Inter want to keep the winger, he also noted that every player has their price. He told the press:
Sure, there were rumours, but the status quo is that we want to keep Perisic.
Having said that, if someone comes in with a very difficult offer to reject, then we’ll consider that.
But, of course, we’ll need to find a valid alternative for Perisic as well.
The issue now seems to be pure financial. Inter Milan are thought to be asking for close to 50 million pounds for Perisic, however Man United want to pay a lot less.
On Tuesday, Jose Mourinho claimed he wants to sign two more players this summer.
