Insight provided into Arsenal’s Lacazette-Abraham transfer plan

Friday afternoon has seen a fresh insight provided into the plans of Premier League giants Arsenal, when it comes to the club’s options up top.

Arsenal hard at work

Recent weeks have of course seen the Gunners take centre stage in the media chatter.

This comes as Mikel Arteta and co. go about assembling a squad capable of reestablishing themselves amongst the Premier League’s top-4 chasing pack.

To this point, Arsenal have landed both Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga, with Brighton’s Ben White expected to follow suit in short order.

Those in a position of power at the Emirates, however, appear far from done when it comes to retooling the club’s squad.

Recent days have seen speculation begin to swirl around the attacking options on the red half of North London, amid suggestions that Mikel Arteta is eyeing up a new spearhead to his frontline.

One surprise option touted in the press has been Tammy Abraham, of course fresh off the back of an altogether underwhelming campaign with capital rivals Chelsea.

Laca out/Tammy in?

And, as outlined above, on Friday, a fresh insight into precisely how Arsenal could fund a swoop for Abraham has been forthcoming.

The info comes courtesy of Mark Irwin of The Sun, who suggests that it may well prove a case of one in, one out at the Emirates over the weeks ahead.

Alexandre Lacazette, whose current terms in the English capital are due to expire next summer, will seemingly not be offered a new deal by the Gunners. Instead, Edu and co. will ‘invite bids’ for their 30-year-old hitman, in the hopes of securing a fee of around 15 million pounds.

Such funds, if secured, would then be utilised as part of a swoop for the aforementioned Abraham, whom Mikel Arteta is said to be a huge fan of.

Significantly, though, it is added that, should a buyer not be forthcoming for Lacazette, Arsenal will ‘happily keep the player at the club for the new season as back-up to captain Aubameyang’.
