Gulliem Balague confirms Barcelona’s mega Philippe Coutinho bid

Barcelona’s mega Philippe Coutinho bid

Sorry Liverpool fans. This saga is definitely not over quite yet.

Reports are once again doing the rounds on Thursday concerning Barcelona’s ongoing attempts to prise Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool.

According to Mundo Deportivo on Thursday, Barcelona have lined up meetings with Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund today.

Those meetings will be to discuss deals for Coutinho and French international Ousmane Dembele.

And where will those meetings be staged? In Monaco, as all three clubs send representatives to France today for the UEFA Champions League draw for the group phase.

Gulliem Balague has also chimed in with a Coutinho update on Thursday morning, as the Sky Sports pundit has confirmed Barcelona’s mega Philippe Coutinho bid.

Barcelona’s moral obligation to Philippe Coutinho

According to Balague, Barcelona will offer Liverpool 150 million euros for Coutinho.

That bid is broken down into an initial lump sum of 110 million euros, plus an additional 40 million lined up in add-ons.

Balague notes that the Catalans are “pessimistic” that their offer will be accepted by the Reds.

So why are Barca teeing themselves up for another rejection? It’s because, says Balague, Barcelona “feel morally obliged” to make a last ditch attempt for the Brazil after he handed in a transfer request at Anfield.

Angel Di Maria & Leo Messi

Balague also touched on reports that Barcelona could sign former Real Madrid star Angel Di Maria.

The Spanish talking-head confirmed that Barcelona have a “personal agreement” with Di Maria, but he stops short of commenting on whether PSG will agree a deal with the Catalans.

As for Leo Messi, who still hasn’t put pen to paper on his new Barcelona deal, Balague tries to assure Barcelona fans that the agreement will be finalised shortly.
