Man City & Isco
According to Spanish journalist Jose Alvarez Haya, Manchester City could sign Real Madrid star Isco this summer.
The story, which broke on Wednesday night on Spanish TV show El Chiringuito, came in the same week that Isco scored his first ever career hat-trick.
Isco was the star of the show as Spain destroyed Argentina 6-1 in a friendly just two months before the World Cup.
After the Argentina game, Isco opened up about his problems at Real Madrid this season.
Isco has often been left on the bench, and the midfielder took a swipe at coach Zinedine Zidane saying:
I want to show that I’m a good player. Lopetegui shows me confidence with the minutes he gives me.
In Madrid, I don’t have the confidence a player needs.
Maybe I’m the problem in Madrid. I don’t know how to win Zidane’s confidence.
Now it’s being claimed that Manchester City could sign Isco in the summer.
Real Madrid star opens talks
In a potentially huge update, it’s claimed that Isco has already spoken to Pep Guardiola about a possible Man City move.
It’s believed Guardiola has assured Isco that he’d be a “key” squad player at the Etihad Stadium.
Moreover, Isco has been offered to double his salary in Manchester.

Isco has talked with Guardiola and the coach promise him that will be a key player on the team. He will earn double salary than now too. Info of my workmate @JorgeCalabres in my program @elchiringuitotv . Really good source. https://t.co/JdjPXIDHnp

For the record, the 25-year-old is under contract with Los Blancos until 2022.
It’s also known that Isco has a staggering €700 million release clause in his Real Madrid contract.
What about Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez?
If Man City go for Isco, does that mean moves for Man City’s Riyad Mahrez are over?
Man City tried to sign Mahrez in the January transfer window, after Alexis Sanchez left Arsenal for Man United.
While most expect Mahrez to leave Leicester at the end of the season, the assumption is that if City sign Isco, a move for Mahrez could be shelved.
