Folarin Balogun on verge of fresh Arsenal exit

The youngster looks set to take his talents to France for the season ahead

Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun is expected to seal a fresh loan departure from the club over the coming days, according to reports.

The English starlet’s predicted landing spot? Stade de Reims.

As per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the powers that be at Arsenal are locked in negotiations with their Reims counterparts, with a view to a deal being imminently struck.

Balogun, who spent the 2nd half of last season on loan in the Championship with Middlesbrough, is understood to have received proposals from a number of Premier League clubs this summer.

Having evidently come to the conclusion that his development would be better aided in France, though, a loan stint with Reims for the duration of 2022/23 now looks very much on the cards.

Balogun’s imminent exit of course comes with the more senior centre forward options at Mikel Arteta’s disposal fresh off a stellar pre-season.

Summer signing Gabriel Jesus has taken to his role as Arsenal’s attacking spearhead like a duck to water, to the tune of seven goals in five appearances to date.

And backup option Eddie Nketiah has too impressed, expected to play a prominent role this season after finally proving himself worthy of consistent game-time on the red half of north London over the closing weeks of the 2021/22 term.
