Fluminense boss claims Chelsea’s Thiago Silva keen on Brazil return: ‘He wants it a lot’

Silva’s Chelsea stint
Thiago Silva, of course, joined Chelsea over the summer following the expiration of his contract with PSG.
And the Brazilian, despite his age, has gone on to prove a solid signing for the Blues.
Granted, he does now lack the kind of pace which we once saw in the stopper. But his experience seems to have had a really positive impact on the Londoners.
Kurt Zouma, for example, has come on leaps and bound this season, forming a solid partnership with Silva.
And though Chelsea’s recent form has declined, it is hard to argue that Silva remains one of the standout members of Frank Lampard’s squad.

Thiago Silva to return to Brazil?
Silva’s current Chelsea contract only runs until the end of this season, not all that surprising given the fact that he is 36.
Reports, though, suggest that Chelsea boast the option to extend the veteran’s stay for another year – an option they seem likely to take up.
At least one other club, however, also appear to have an interest in Silva.
Before making the move to Europe in 2009, the Brazilian was plying his trade in his home country with Fluminense.
And now, his former club’s boss has spoken out over the possibility of the Chelsea man returning to the Maracana.
Marcão, who actually played with Silva during his time in Brazil, has gone as far as to state that his ex-teammate wants to rejoin Fluminense ‘a lot’:
“I think so. I’m sure the president will organise the club. And I’m sure that we’ll have the captain here with us. We’ll do everything to bring the captain. He wants it a lot.”
