Fikayo Tomori drawn on potential Chelsea future: ‘Once I switched to Milan…’
On-loan Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori was today drawn on his future with the club, during an interview with the BBC.
Blues exit
English international Tomori of course departed Stamford Bridge late last month.
This came with the 23-year-old having fallen majorly down the central defensive pecking order in west London this season.
On the back of a solid campaign last time out, during which he racked up 22 appearances across all competitions, Tomori subsequently slipped behind all of new signing Thiago Silva, Kurt Zouma, Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger in Frank Lampard’s list of options at the back.
In turn, just days before Thomas Tuchel’s arrival at the club, the gifted young stopper was farmed out on loan by Chelsea.
Tomori made the move to Italian giants AC Milan, where he will remain for the 2nd half of the campaign:

‘Whatever happens at Chelsea…’
The stopper has since gone on to enjoy a solid start to life at the San Siro, with Tomori having been thrown in at the deep end amid a number of injury issues at the heart of Milan’s backline.
To this point, he has managed 4 appearances, including a pair of starts in Serie A.
In turn, having largely impressed the Rossoneri faithful, questions have already begun to be asked regarding the possibility of those in a position of power on the red half of Milan making the Chelsea man’s signing permanent.
Stefano Pioli’s men have the option to do so come the end of the campaign.
And, as outlined above, this subject was put to none other than Tomori himself this week, during an interview with the BBC.
The 23-year-old was drawn directly on his future, both regarding a potential Stamford Bridge return, and San Siro stay.
Tomori, however, was keen to keep his cards close to his chest, giving little away in explaining:
“Once I switched to Milan it was all about Milan. Whatever happens at Chelsea, happens at Chelsea.”
In a BBC interview, Tomori gave few clues whether he will return from a loan at AC Milan to #CFC at the end of the season. The Serie A club have an option to buy. Tomori said: “Once I switched to Milan it was all about Milan. Whatever happens at Chelsea, happens at Chelsea.”
