Pedro Porro’s move to Tottenham is taking it’s time and here’s why...

Tottenham Hotspur are trying to complete a deal to sign Pedro Porro.

For the majority of the January window, Spurs have been chasing the 23-year-old.

A deal looks to be getting closer but there has been a hold-up and here’s why...

Porro’s request

Pedro Porro has already told Rúben Amorim that he intends to play in Saturday’s Taça da Liga final, according to Correio da Manhã.

Sporting CP reached the final after defeating Arouca during midweek.

Porro started on the bench with Sporting in advanced talks with Spurs over a deal.

It is also reported that a deal for the Spaniard to join Tottenham could be agreed before the match.

Porro has agreed terms with the north London club but asked to be allowed to play in Saturday’s League Cup final.

The two clubs looked to have agreed a fee of €45 million - the value of his release clause - but it will be paid in installments.

How this is paid looks to be the final detail of the deal that is being discussed.
