A Christmas present for Everton?
Late on Christmas Eve, reports in Turkey claimed Everton had agreed a deal for Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun.
The Besiktas attacker has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs in recent months but if reports are to be believed in Turkey, a deal with Everton is all but done.
On Christmas Day, Turkish football website Fanatik report that Everton and Besiktas have agreed on a 25 million euro move.
Cenk Tosun deal to be announced at the start of January
The deal is agreed and will be announced simultaneously by Besiktas and Everton at the start of the January transfer window.
Everton and Besiktas reached the agreement for Cenk Tosun before Saturday’s defeat to Sivasspor in the Turkish Super Lig.
Tosun played only the second half of that match, coming on for former Manchester City and Middlesbrough striker Alvaro Negredo.
Besiktas & Everton agree 25 million euro deal
The agreement with Everton meant that Tosun started on the bench. The Turkish attacker only came on when Negredo picked up an injury.
Besiktas’ initial request was for Everton to pay 40 million euros. The two parties agreed on 25 million.
Cenk Tosun will go down as the most expensive Turkish player to ever join a foreign club when the deal is announced at the start of the January transfer window.

Tosun will sign four-and-a-half year deal at Everton.
Tosun has been linked with moves to a number of Premier League sides over recent months, with all of Newcastle United, Everton, Tottenham and Crystal Palace having reportedly informed Besiktas of their interest.
Tosun, a 26-year-old Turkish international, enjoyed a breakout campaign at the Vodafone Arena last season, racking up 27 goals in all competitions, including 20 goals and 5 assists in 29 league starts.
He has also started out the current season in impressive fashion, having netted 13 times across all competitions.
