Everton scout Arsenal target Jakub Jankto

Everton, Arsenal & Jakub Jankto

According to reports back in the summer, Arsenal were tracking Udinese’s brilliant young midfielder Jakub Jankto.

Jankto’s agent, Beppe Riso, even spoke publicly about Arsenal’s interest. He told Sportitalia:

Arsenal like him, he’s a lover of English football, and he’s also liked by Juve, Inter and other teams. Do I see him more in the Premier League than other leagues? Yes.

Still, he’s young, he’s 21 years old, he must be calm and he’s only thinking about Udinese.

It’s now been confirmed that Jankto has another Premier League admirer: Everton.

Scouts watch Udinese

Italian news outlet Sport Mediaset have confirmed that Everton scouted Jakub Jankto last weekend in Serie A.

Jankto played in a 3-1 Udinese loss against Roma.

Udinese have begun the season badly, with just one win and five defeats in their opening six games. They are fourth bottom of Serie A.

Jankto is a Czech Republic international who, along with Roma’s Patrik Schick, are tipped to lead their country to success.

Jankto signed for Udinese in 2014 after playing youth football for Slavia Prague.

He played 34 league games for Ascoli last season on loan from Udinese. During that spell he scored five goals, impressing with his tireless running.

His preferred position is on the left in a 4-3-3 formation but he can operate in a variety of positions on the left-hand side.

Udinese are thought to be asking for 8 million pounds for the midfielder.

Jankto is under contract with Udinese until 2021.
