Jamie Vardy goal vs Manchester City

Everton fans react badly to Jamie Vardy, Leicester rumours

Burnley 2 – Everton 1

It was another poor weekend for Everton as their season begins to fizzle out.

The Toffees have lost three of their last four matches after Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Turf Moor.

Everton took the lead through Turkish striker Cenk Tosun, but Burnley turned the scoreline after a break.

A brilliant pass from Matt Lowton freed Ashley Barnes to slot home the leveller.

Halftime sub Chris Wood powered home a match winning header with 10 minutes to go.

The match ended on a low note for Everton as Ashley Williams was sent off for throwing an elbow at Barnes.

Leicester’s Jamie Vardy to Everton

According to the Mirror on Sunday, Leicester and England international Jamie Vardy is a top target for Everton this summer.

Of course, last summer Romelu Lukaku left Everton for 75 million pounds to join Man United. The Toffees failed to replace Lukaku at the time.

So could Vardy fill that void? The Mirror tell their readers:

Jamie Vardy is the No.1 summer target for Everton. The Toffees held a meeting last week to discuss their recruitment plans and the Leicester striker is top of the wishlist.

It is believed the 31-year-old would jump at a chance to move to Merseyside where he would get a hefty pay rise in line with top-earners like Wayne Rooney who picks up £150,000 a week.

Everton fans react badly

How much would Everton have to pay for Leicester’s Vardy?

And is he really the player the Toffees need to change the fortunes of the club?
