It seems like Roberto Martinez is going to make a bid, late move in the transfer market.
Having sold Steven Naismith to Norwich earlier in the window, the Everton boss is now set to splurge £13.5 million on Lokomotiv Moscow striker Oumar Niasse.
You can hear the locals now. ‘Who?’
Niasse is a 25-year-old forward, who was voted Russia’s player of the year in 2015.
But aren’t Everton’s bigger problems at the back?
Leaving that to one side, Niasse is a man in form, having scored 12 goals and grabbing ten assists in his 21 matches for the Russian side this season.
Everton are poised to sign the striker Oumar Niasse from Lokomotiv Moscow after having an offer of £13.5m accepted by the Russian club.
Niasse is currently in the north-west of England and he and Everton will now attempt to agree personal terms.
The signing does look to be something of a gamble.
Niasse is a late bloomer, have coming to the fore in Senegal with local side US Ouakam in 2011.
He then moved around for a bit, scoring 15 goals and seven assist for Akhisar Belediyespor in Turkey in 2013, before he joined Lokomotiv.
Everton fans should know, however, the while Niasse is a threat in front of goal, he’s also able to draw teammates into play and act as an assist maker.
