Global star and Polish international icon Robert Lewandowski could be set to singularly cause a monumental shift on the European football landscape after reports have surfaced stating that the elite center-forward could be on his way out of the Allianz Arena this summer.
As reported by multiple sources, including transfer insider Fabrizio Romano and Eurosport’s Jan Åge Fjørtoft and others, Lewandowski is heavily dissatisfied with the situation in Bavaria as he has not yet received any offers on the table regarding a contract extension with the Rekordmeister, and as such, would be unwilling to go into the last year of his deal with Bayern without direction.

On the back of that, the European elite across the continent and in England are now on alert as chances are increasing of Lewandowski departing in the summer rather than running his deal down during 2022-23 to leave on a free twelve months removed if no contract is tabled to the player and his agent Pini Zahavi in due course.
Interest in Lewandowski heats up in response
Should Robert Lewandowski indeed put himself on course for an exit this summer, the top echelon of clubs in Europe are already queueing for the right to pay for his services this summer, and that includes both Manchester City and Manchester United.
With his name potentially being added into the transfer pool this summer, the knock-on effect that could result given that Erling Haaland is also expected to move on from Borussia Dortmund is not only a massive blow to the Bundesliga, but it could give a few clubs something to consider in terms of which player they should prioritize.
Barcelona has likely ruled themselves out of the race, however, and have turned their attentions toward Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah instead.
With Real Madrid looking to land a dream partnership of Mbappé-Haaland for the future, both Manchester clubs could still be in the race as, long term, both sides of the city are in need of a long-term center forward option.
