So who is he? Palace’s official website have confirmed the following:
The 21-year-old central midfielder moved to the Portuguese capital from Malmo earlier this month and Roy Hodgson’s first signing of this transfer window sees Rakip make a temporary switch to south London.
He has 11 caps for the Swedish under-21 side, scoring once, having helped his nation to a third-place finish at the FIFA U17 World Cup in 2013.
Do Palace have an option to buy Rakip if he does well at Selhurst Park? There’s no mention of that in the Palace announcement.
At the same time some Palace fans have taken to social media to make jokes about the club’s latest signing.
He looks like a fan that won a day at the training ground 😂
But if that chip in that video is anything to go by, I’m excited. https://t.co/m86BDzGaCo

Crystal Palace’s injury crisis
With a little over a week to go in the January transfer window, there is pressure on Crystal Palace to bring in new bodies to south London.
On Friday fresh fears about Ruben Loftus-Cheek were revealed.
Connor Wickham and Mamadou Sakho are still a few weeks away from returning.
Jason Puncheon, Scott Dann, and Jeffrey Schlupp are all long-term absentees.
While Palace can now add Yohan Cabaye to their long injury list after the Frenchman, who is out of contract at the end of the season, left the Emirates Stadium on crutches and wearing a protective boot.
Palace were beaten 4-1 last weekend at Arsenal.
Cabaye went off on a stretcher with three minutes left in the game.
Will this be the last time Palace see Cabaye this season?
