€40m to Raiola and Haaland sr – The staggering demands required to land football’s most in-demand star revealed
An insight into the kind of money which will be required to clinch a summer deal for Erling Haaland has been forthcoming online this evening.
BVB standout
20-year-old Haaland has of course established himself as world football’s most highly-regarded young talent over the last 18 months or so.
On the back of a scintillating opening to last season on the books of Austrian champions Red Bull Salzburg, during which he racked up a staggering 28 goals in 21 appearances across all competitions, a number of Europe’s top clubs inevitably began sniffing around the hitman’s signature.
In the end, it was Borussia Dortmund who beat out the competition to clinch a January deal for Haaland, with the attacker having made the move to Signal Iduna Park for a fee of around €20 million.
And to say that Haaland has since gone on to repay Dortmund’s faith would be putting it lightly.
The youngster has taken to the rigours of Bundesliga football like a duck to water, proving that he is more than capable of cutting it on the big stage.
To this point, across 50 total appearances in the famous yellow, Haaland has directly contributed to a frankly ridiculous 60 goals.

Raiola to take advantage
As such, whilst Dortmund have thus far proven the perfect spot to further Haaland’s development, the general assumption is that one of Europe’s true powerhouses will soon come knocking, in a bid to snatch the prodigious attacker away from Signal Iduna Park.
Speculation surrounding a potential transfer this summer has of course begun to mount of late, with five of football’s ‘top clubs’ – including Barcelona and Real Madrid – believed to be in the running for the Norwegian.
Mino Raiola is meeting with Real Madrid after Barcelona and the plan for #Haaland is so clear: talk with 5 top clubs interested, their projects, proposals and then decide for the future. It’ll be a long race.

And, as outlined above, on Sunday, an insight into the kind of money, transfer fee aside, which could well be required to land Haaland, has been forthcoming online.
The news, meanwhile, may well scare off some of the hitman’s suitors.
As per Gerard Romero of Spanish outlet RAC1, during Barcelona’s recent meeting with Mino Raiola and Haaland’s father, the Blaugrana were quoted the following eye-watering figures:
- €20 million to Raiola
- €20 million to Haaland sr.
- €30 million-per-season wages
It is also suggested that the 20-year-old would only commit to a Camp Nou switch in the case that Lionel Messi’s stay is guaranteed.
