This is the type of player Arsenal fans are crying out for: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang!
SportsBild have today revealed that Borussia Dortmund have placed a €60m asking price on the Bundesliga’s joint top scorer Aubameyang, while the German paper claim Arsenal are “interested”.
Bild stress that BVB have no intention of selling their forward who has 19 goals in 16 games this season, and yet it’s there is “great interest” from both Arsenal and PSG. Barcelona are also sniffing around the 26-year-old Gabonese attacker.
Of course, there feels like a discrepancy exists between reports that Dortmund are headstrong about holding onto their striker, while a fee for the forward is made public. That’s definite mixed messages.
Were Aubameyang to move for €60m, he’d become the Bundesliga’s second most expensive transfer after Man City bought Kevin De Bruyne from Wolfsburg for €74m.
SportBild also claim that Aubameyang (whose contract expires in 2020) and Marco Reus (whose contract expires in 2019) will not leave the club while each other remains at the Signal Iduna Park.
Will that gentleman’s agreement hold up in practice? Who knows.
