The front pages of two of Spain’s top sports newspapers on Friday both announce that Real Madrid have signed a Brazilian on Friday.
The day after Martin Odegaard was finally unveiled at the Santiago Bernabeu, both AS and Marca shout on their splashes that central midfielder Lucas Silva is joining Los Blancos from Cruzeiro.
Marca, who go with the headline “Lucas SI-lva”, publish on their front page that the 21-year-old Brazil has completed a €14m move to Madrid. Moreover, Silva will put pen to his Real contract on Froday, while he’ll be presented at the club on Monday.
As for AS, they claim the deal costs slightly less, €13m, while they carry quotes from the Cruzeiro Vice-President confirming that “the agreement is closed”.
The capture of Lucas Silva will likely see speculation rise that Asier Illarramendi and Sami Khedira could leave the club this January.
