Ante Coric rejects Liverpool
One player who Liverpool fans will no doubt have read about in recent days is 19-year-old Croatian starlet Ante Coric.
The Dinamo teenager has been linked with a Premier League move for some time, however he’s so far resisted all offers and remained in Zagreb.
Coric was part of the Croatian squad at Euro 2016, while he’s often dubbed as being the new Luka Modric.
The 19-year-old broke into the Dinamo first team during the 2014/2015 season and last season he established himself as a key player for the Croatian league title winners.
On Monday, Coric has spoken to Croatian paper Vecernji list about his opportunity to join Liverpool this summer, and why he ultimately decided to turn down the offer to move to Anfield.
Champions League football a factor
Coric told Vecernji list the following:
I am happy such big clubs want me, but I want to play with my favourite team in the Champions League.
It was up to me to decide (to join Liverpool), all I needed to do was a medical. But I want to stay at Dinamo, where I can give a lot more.
Dinamo have been drawn alongside Juventus, Sevilla and Lyon in Group H of the Champions League.
