David Brooks ‘expecting’ an offer from Leicester/Man United still linked with Bournemouth star

An update on the future of David Brooks has, on Tuesday, been forthcoming.

Brooks’ Bournemouth stint

David Brooks joined Bournemouth in the summer of 2018, from then-Championship outfit Sheffield United.

The Cherries are understood to have paid United just over £10m for the attack-minded midfielder’s services.

Brooks went on to enjoy a fruitful debut campaign on the south coast, notching seven goals and five assists in 30 Premier League outings.

However, the Welshman’s 2019/20 campaign was riddled with injury.

Brooks suffered ligament damage last July, and was originally expected to be out until December.

However, the 22-year-old was then forced to undergo a second operation, meaning he had to wait until June for his first outing of the season.

Brooks transfer latest

Despite his struggles of late, though, Brooks has nevertheless caught the eye of some top clubs.

It was reported back in May that the Welsh international was being tracked by Manchester United, as a backup option to Jadon Sancho.

Now, on Tuesday, though, another outfit appear to have taken the lead in the race for the promising youngster.

As per Dominic Booth of the Manchester Evening News, Brooks is expecting an offer from Leicester City, who are now viewed as the favourites to land the Bournemouth standout.

Booth adds that Man United are still considering Brooks, but Jadon Sancho remains their priority:
