Crystal Palace’s impressive summer continues as 2nd Chelsea youngster joins Vieira’s revolution

Crystal Palace’s impressive summer continues as 2nd Chelsea youngster joins Vieira’s revolution

Premier League outfit Crystal Palace have, on Friday, confirmed the latest addition to the club’s squad.

Palace rebuilding

It is of course set to prove a season of change at Selhurst Park.

This comes with the Eagles having first opted to part ways with long-time boss Roy Hodgson last month, paving the way for legendary Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira to take his place on the club’s bench.

And the weeks since Vieira’s installment have seen the board in South London make absolutely no secret of their intention to fully back the Frenchman’s revolution.

The capital outfit have proven one of the most active Premier League clubs in the transfer market, having followed up the savvy addition of Michael Olise with the signing of Joachim Andersen earlier this week.

Further defensive reinforcements were also forthcoming in the form of Marc Guehi, long viewed as one of the finest up and coming talents on the books of London rivals Chelsea.

Blues starlet

And, on Friday, a 2nd summer arrival at Selhurst Park from Stamford Bridge has been confirmed.

The latest reinforcement to Vieira’s squad? Conor Gallagher.

All-action midfielder Gallagher has long been in high demand ahead of the 2021/22 campaign, on the back of an impressive debut season in the top-flight with West Bromwich Albion.

Facing competition from the likes of Jorginho, N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic back in West London, it therefore came as little surprise when word was forthcoming that Chelsea were prepared to farm the 21-year-old back out on loan for the coming 12 months.

And, this evening, Palace have officially beaten out the competition for Gallagher’s signature.

In posts across the clubs’ respective social media platforms, both the Eagles and Chelsea confirmed that the English youth international will spend the 2021/22 campaign plying his trade at Selhurst Park:
