Crystal Palace’s deal for West Ham’s Diafra Sakho in doubt

Crystal Palace need strikers

It’s been a bit of a mad season for Crystal Palace.

The Eagles began the campaign with just one fit striker in their squad: Christian Benteke.

But Benteke’s had a rather lousy time in front of goal for the Eagles this year.

While the Belgian missed several matches earlier in the season through injury, Benteke has only scored once in the Premier League all campaign.

Indeed Palace’s top scorer in the EPL this season is James McArthur (5 goals).

It’s also worth noting that Palace lost their opening seven matches of the season without scoring a goal.

West Ham & Diafra Sakho

One of the rumours doing the rounds this week is that Palace are closing in on West Ham striker Diafra Sakho.

Sakho is yet to start a Premier League game this season, scoring four goals in the 17 games.

According to Sky Sports on Thursday morning “Crystal Palace have agreed a fee with West Ham for Diafra Sakho”.

Palace are thought to be lining up a bid of 12 to 14 million pounds for the  28-year-old Senegal striker.

But are those reports true?

When it comes to West Ham news, Twitter user ExWHUemployee is often the go-to source on social media.

And according to his understanding, the Crystal Palace’s deal for West Ham’s Diafra Sakho is just a “rumour”.

Wilfried Zaha leaving Crystal Palace?

Another rumour swirling around Selhurst Park is January is that Wilfried Zaha could leave the Eagles.

On Wednesday night at Stamford Bridge, we actually met up with Palace boss Roy Hodgson outside the ground.

When asked if Zaha is leaving the Eagles, Hodgson claimed it would take a lot of money to make such a deal happen.
