Crystal Palace’s Khouma Babacar move revealed

Crystal Palace & Khouma Babacar

It’s been a crazy season at Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace gave every other Premier League team in the division a seven match head start this season.

The Eagles lost their first seven league matches of the season without scoring a goal.

But Roy Hodgson has since turned things around dramatically.

The Eagles have only lost once in their last 11 games as they’ve escaped the bottom three.

And, according to Italian transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio, Palace are now lining up a move for striker Khouma Babacar in January.

From Fiorentina to the Premier League

Babacar, 24, has previously been linked with Palace.

However could a January move for the Senegalese striker now happen?

Di Marzio believes the deal could now be a flyer as Babacar has struggled to lock down a first team spot at Fiorentina this season.

Babacar has five goals and two assists in 17 competitive games this season.

By contrast Crystal Palace’s highest Premier League scorer this season is James McArthur with five goals.

Christian Benteke, Palace’s only recognised striker, has one league goal this season.

Unfortunately Di Marzio fails to specify how Palace intend to get the deal done. Will it be a loan deal or a permanent transfer?

For the record, Babacar is under contract at Fiorentina until 2019.

Crystal Palace vs Burnley

This weekend the Eagles take on Burnley in the Premier League.

Tottenham’s Georges-Kévin N’Koudou could make his Burnley debut in the game after his loan move until the end of the season.

Palace have a long list of injury problems. Mamadou Sakho, Connor Wickham, Scott Dann, Jason Puncheon, Jeffrey Schlupp and Andros Townsend will all miss the game through injury.
