Crystal Palace linked with trio of forwards including Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard

An insight into some of the potential summer additions to Crystal Palace’s attack has emerged online on Monday.

Zaha & Benteke out

First, it has been suggested that, despite the 2020/21 Premier League campaign having gotten underway over the weekend, Roy Hodgson could still lose two of his attackers.

These players come in the form of Wilfried Zaha and Christian Benteke.

According to The Times, Palace want to sell Benteke, and Zaha would like to leave.

The former has been a major flop since his arrival from Liverpool in 2016, and with less than 12 months remaining on his contract, the Eagles would no doubt prefer to cash in on him this summer – rather than lose him for free next year.

Belgian outfit Club Brugge are believed to be interested in the 29-year-old.

As for Zaha, the Ivorian has made it quite clear in the past that he wishes to depart Palace, though the club are understood to want £50m for his signature – a fee which it is of course difficult to envision any club stumping up at this moment in time.

Edouard, Sarr & Benrahma in

However, considering the calibre of player whom Crystal Palace are believed to be targetting as potential replacements for Zaha and Benteke, they will need to recoup around £50m from the former’s sale.

Referring back to the above-linked report from The Times, Palace hold an interest in all of Brentford’s Said Benrahma, Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard and Watford’s Ismaila Sarr.

Whilst all three would no doubt make fine additions to Roy Hodgson’s squad, one would imagine that they would also cost a fair chunk of change.

It has previously been claimed that Edouard has a £40m price-tag, with a similar fee believed to be on Sarr’s head.

Benrahma appears the cheapest of the trio, with recent reports having suggested that the winger is valued at £20m.
