Chelsea’s talent outflux continues as 3rd youngster departs for PL rival in space of a week

Another of the young crop of talents to have made his way through the youth ranks of Premier League giants Chelsea has, on Friday, opted to move on.

Blues on the move

The last week has of course seen something of an academy outflux get underway at Stamford Bridge.

The first to have sought pastures new came in the form of defender Marc Guehi, who, after shining during a loan stint with Swansea City last season, secured a permanent Blues departure last weekend.

The highly-regarded stopper has linked up with capital rivals Crystal Palace, under the assumption that a regular Premier League starting berth will be forthcoming at Selhurst Park:

Swiftly following Guehi’s exit, meanwhile, was another, on Thursday afternoon.

The 2nd player to have moved on? Lewis Bate.

18-year-old midfielder Bate had long stood as one of the most promising up and coming talents on the books of Chelsea.

Last year, for example, saw the midfielder captain his long-time club in the finale of the 2020 FA Youth Cup, before making the step up to U23 level, with whom Bate managed a none too shabby 20 appearances.

Nevertheless, the teen, behind a host of established names in Thomas Tuchel’s senior pecking order, too decided to link up with a Premier League rival – Leeds United:

Bees bound

And, as outlined above, just 24 hours later, the third departure from Chelsea’s highly thought of Cobham academy in the space of five days has too been made official.

The latest youngster to have opted to try his hand elsewhere comes in the form of Myles Peart-Harris.

The 18-year-old, like the aforementioned Bate, is a gifted midfield performer, albeit a more attack-minded one, who has also established himself as a regular at youth level with England.

Evidently of the mindset that the influx of big-money talent in West London over the last couple of years was set to limit first-team opportunities, though, Peart-Harris has decided to link up with Premier League newcomers Brentford:
