Arsenal & Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Many Arsenal fans will have woken up on Monday morning to read reports about Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
In his final year of his Arsenal contract, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been linked with a possible exit from the Emirates Stadium before the summer window closes.
Chelsea and Liverpool have been name-dropped as possible suitors, however the Star on Monday claimed that the Ox is likely to stay put.
The tabloid told their readers that Arsenal are offering Oxlade-Chamberlain a new deal. The Gunners will present the Ox with a new four-year deal worth £125,000-a-week.
Chelsea still in the mix
While suggestions that the Ox will join Liverpool seem to be receding, claims he could Chelsea refuse to go away.
The Star claimed Chelsea have bid 40 million pounds for the Ox, while further reports on Monday claim a second bid is on it’s way.
Dean Jones, who works for Bleacher Report, has taken to social media to claim that Chelsea are coming back with a second offer for Arsenal’s star.
Expect Oxlade-Chamberlain situation to move on again this week. More talks with Arsenal and another bid from Chelsea on the way

Does a Blues move make sense?
Once tipped to be the next great English midfielder, Oxlade-Chamberlain is now viewed as a back-up wing-back for Arsenal.
In the 4-3 win over Leicester in round one of the new season, Oxlade-Chamberlain played at left wing-back.
Against Stoke in the 1-0 defeat on Saturday, the Ox was deployed at right wing-back. Hector Bellerin surprisingly played down the opposite flank.
Filling in down the wings appears to have alerted Chelsea to the Ox’s contract situation. Antonio Conte has been looking for back up in those positions all summer.
