Chelsea transfer news: Ben White hijack, Tchouameni targeted as Rice alternative, Haaland speaks about future

Chelsea transfer news

In this article, we’ll cover all of today’s Chelsea transfer news.

Chelsea to rival Arsenal for Ben White

Arsenal have been pushing to secure a move for Brighton defender Ben White.

However, so far have been unsuccessful in their attempts and yesterday offered a newly structured deal with more money up front according to Duncan Castles.

Now though, Chelsea could look to storm in and hijack a potential deal for White.

Having lost Fikayo Tomori to AC Milan on a permanent deal, Chelsea have been left with a number of centre-backs filling their non-homegrown quota.

White would fill that slot and provide longevity and comfortability in the current back 3 set-up having played there for Brighton.

“I now understand that Chelsea have notified the player of their interest in signing him. I think that’s significant competition for Arsenal,” Castles told Reach PLC’s Transfer Window podcast.

Declan Rice alternative found

After it was revealed that David Moyes and West Ham value Declan Rice at over £100 million, Chelsea are looking at alternatives.

According to the Daily Express, Chelsea are looking to Monaco’s young French midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.

Tchouameni won the Ligue 1 young player of the year last year and would be seen as an ambitious move for the Blues.

They are not unfamiliar to signing midfielders from Monaco with Tiemoue Bakayoko joining from Monaco in 2017.

Chelsea and Tuchel will hope Tchouameni turns out much more successfully should they acquire him.

Haaland speaks on future

Chelsea are seeking to bring in a transformative striker this summer. With Romelu Lukaku set to stay in Italy, Erling Haaland has been tipped with a move to Stamford Bridge.

The Norwegian is arguably the most coveted forward on the planet and agent Mino Raiola want to secure a big move for him either this summer or next when a buyout clause activates.

Dortmund may want to cash in for more this summer though and this would suit Haaland whose recent words say he wants to ‘get out’ of his current ‘zone.’

“I have been taking a couple of steps over the past few years and I think they have been good steps for me, personally, to get out of my comfort zone and to develop even more,” he said.

“I want to challenge myself in everything that I do. It’s something I think about. It’s also for everyone to always do this. People can sometimes be too comfortable staying in their ‘zone’ so I think it’s important to get out of that.”

Haaland has ambitions to win the Champions League and joining the current holders would certainly be an option for the Norwegian.
