Chelsea, Tottenham & Santiago Arias
There’s a new name for Tottenham defender Danny Rose to Google. It’s PSV right-back Santiago Arias.
Over the weekend, ESPN have reported have sprung up claiming Colombian international Arias is a target for both Tottenham and Chelsea.
Tottenham, of course, just signed another Colombian international, bringing in Davinson Sanchez from Ajax.
Chelsea, meanwhile, have been on the lookout for cover in their wing-back slots all summer.
Who is Santiago Arias?
25-year-old Santiago Arias has been in Europe since 2011, when he joined Sporting CP from La Equidad.
He moved to PSV in 2013, where he’s chalked up more than 100 appearances for the club.
Arias has also represented Colombia more than 25 times, while he made three appearances as a sub for Colombia in the 2014 World Cup.
Arias made 31 appearances under Philips Stadion boss Phillip Cocu last season, while he’s under contract until 2019.
Swansea also in the mix
Aside from Chelsea and Tottenham, Swansea are also reportedly looking at Santiago Arias.
PSV are believed to be willing to sell the full-back for £12 million.
