Chelsea submit new offer for Kai Havertz & Tiemoue Bakayoko inches closer to AC Milan transfer

Chelsea submit new offer for Kai Havertz

Will this be the week in which Chelsea finally make headway in their efforts to sign Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen?

According to Italian reporter Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have submitted a fresh bid to Bayer for 21-year-old Havertz.

Unfortunately, Fabrizio Romano didn’t expand on any of the details of the potential deal.

One has to assume, though, that Chelsea have upped their offer to Leverkusen, as the Blues attempt to wrap up the deal.

What have we previously been told about the Chelsea – Havertz deal?

After Chelsea lost to Bayern Munich in the Champions League at the start of August, Blues manager Frank Lampard claimed that it was unlikely that Havertz would move to Stamford Bridge this summer.

Lampard said: “I wouldn’t expect anything, I wouldn’t expect (Havertz joins Chelsea).”

However, since those comments, a raft of updates have suggested that Havertz is on his way to west London.

RMC Sport reporter Mohamed Bouhafsi claimed that Havertz wants to join Chelsea, and that the German has agreed a 5-year contract with the Blues.

Tiemoue Bakayoko inches closer to AC Milan transfer

Tiemoue Bakayoko stood as a household name in an amazing Monaco side which reached the Champions League semi-finals in 2016-17.

However, since moving to Stamford Bridge, the French midfielder has struggled to impress.

Bakayoko’s contract at Chelsea expires in 2022, but it’s looking like the midfielder will finally leave the Pensioners this summer.

Fabrizio Romano believes that AC Milan are on the verge of completing the signing of Bakayoko.

Bakayoko has previously been loaned out to AC Milan.

The Rossoneri could end up paying 38 million euros for Bakayoko.

Leicester’s Ben Chilwell & Thiago Silva

If that wasn’t enough, Fabrizio Romano has indicated that Chelsea could soon sign two new defenders.

After a long pursuit, Leicester left-back Ben Chilwell is expected to complete a move to Chelsea soon.

The Pensioners are expected to confirm Chilwell’s arrival in the next few days.

Also, the Blues remain in the hunt to sign Thiago Silva.

Silva is set to become a free agent following the Champions League final, when his PSG contract expires.
