Chelsea set world record fee for Diego Costa, Tianjin Quanjian ready to pay up

Diego Costa & Tianjin Quanjian

Suggestions that Diego Costa could be about to leave Chelsea at the end of the season have been stoked up on Saturday night by French news outlet SFR Sport.

Costa scored Chelsea’s third goal against Swansea in a 3-1 win on Saturday in the Premier League.

According to their understanding, Chelsea have told Chinese Super League side Tianjin Quanjian how much it will cost to sign Costa, and the numbers are mind boggling.

What’s already happened?

SFR Sport claim that Chelsea have already turned out a €107 million offer from Tianjin for Costa.

Moreover, the player was offered €100 million to spend three seasons at the club.

World record fee

Chelsea have told Tianjin that they would be willing to sell Diego Costa in the summer for a world record fee of €150 million, and the Chinese club are ready to spend the cash.

Tiajin already have the likes of Alexandre Pato and Axel Witsel on their books.

Should the deal happen, Chelsea will make an enormous profit on 28-year-old Costa, who they signed for £32 million from Atletico Madrid.
