According to the Telegraph on Wednesday, Saido Berahino could be set to get his move away from West Brom in January as he finally moves from the Midlands down to London.
Unforgettably, Berahino was on the verge of leaving The Hawthorns to join Tottenham in the summer transfer window.
And the, just as it looked like the deal was done everything collapsed, and Berahino was left to lick his wounds at the Baggies, after he famously took to social media to announce he’d never play for the club again.
Berahino has appeared to put all nonsense behind him in the opening part of the 2-16-17 season, and according to an ‘exclusive’ in the Telegraph today, the striker is now wanted by Chelsea.
The broadsheet place a £20 million price tag around the striker’s head.
Chelsea are in need of new talent up-front, as Radamel Falcao is tipped to leave Stamford Bridge as his loan spell fails to take off, while Diego Costa and Loic Remy aren’t doing the business so far this season.
As written by John Percy:
The England Under-21 international has been identified as a potential signing as he will have only 18 months left on his contract in January, while he will also boost Chelsea’s home-grown player quota. He has proven he can score goals in the Premier League, registering 14 last season and 20 in all competitions.
Berahino has scored three goals for West Brom so far this season.
