Manchester City’s Riyad Mahrez has been linked with two of Europe’s heavyweight clubs this week.
Riyad Mahrez would begin his career in England by making history with Leicester City. The year after barely staving off relegation, the Foxes caused the biggest upset in Premier League history by going on to win the league title in 2015/16.
Mahrez would then, of course, make the move to Manchester City in the summer of 2018.
The attacker departed Leicester City for the Manchester outfit for a fee believed to be around the £61m mark.
And, since making the switch to the Etihad, Mahrez has played a key role in the continuing success of Manchester City.
The Algerian has helped Manchester City secure two league titles, an FA Cup, three League Cups and a Community Shield.
Mahrez was also instrumental in the Sky Blues reaching the 2021 Champions League final, putting on some starring displays in the quarter and semi-finals and he has since continued his fine form in the current campaign.
Mahrez has scored a staggering 21 goals and provided seven assists in 33 ties for Man City this term.
Chelsea & PSG eye Mahrez
So, it is fair to say losing Mahrez, who is City’s only natural right-winger, would be a big blow for them.
Now though, reports coming out of France suggest Mahrez, who is in the final 18 months of his City deal, is sparking transfer interest from some top clubs.
As per Santi Aouna of Foot Mercato, PSG are thinking about signing Mahrez should Angel di Maria leave them, whilst Chelsea are also interested in the Algerian standout:
