Roman Abramovich & Leo Messi
The Sun have a remarkable tale in their paper on Thursday, which suggests that Leo Messi is considering leaving FC Barcelona to join Chelsea.
Cutting to the chase, the tabloid has reported that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has had a sit down on his superyacht with Leo Messi’s dad, Jorge.
The timing of the Sun’s revelations come a day after Messi and his dad were sentenced to 21 years in jail for tax evasion in Spain.
It feels like the Sun are trying to exploit Messi’s off the field problems to produce clickbait content.
So what do the Sun say?
SunSport understands that Messi’s father, who represents his superstar son, has met with Blues’ owner Roman Abramovich.
The meeting is believed to have taken place in the last ten days on Abramovich’s personal superyacht, the Eclipse.
The Sun go on to report that Chelsea will offer Barcelona for £110 million (is that enough to secure the services of the 29-year-old?), while Messi could earn £800,000-a-week at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea, of course, are not involved in any European competition this season.
This Messi to Chelsea story has the strong whiff of total BS.
