Chelsea reportedly agree personal terms with Kai Havertz/Leverkusen eyeing German’s replacement

A handful of updates concerning Chelsea-linked Kai Havertz and his situation at Bayer Leverkusen have emerged online on Wednesday.

Havertz agrees personal terms with Chelsea

Havertz, who just under two years left on his current contract with Leverkusen, has been linked with a move to Chelsea for some time now.

And, according to the Telegraph, the Blues are at least halfway there when it comes to bringing the German, who scored 12 and assisted six in 30 Bundesliga outings this past season, to Stamford Bridge.

It is claimed that personal terms have been agreed on a five-year deal for Havertz to join Chelsea.

This is, of course, good news for all involved at Chelsea.

However, there still appears to be one big stumbling block for the Londoners to overcome. This comes in the form of the fee required to land the 21-year-old.

The report from the Telegraph claims that Leverkusen want a fee in excess of €90m for their star man.

However, Chelsea are only believed to have tabled an offer of around €20m less than that.

It is added that both sides are keen to reach a resolution in the next week or so. This coincides with another recent report from Bild, which stated that Leverkusen had set a deadline of August 28th for a deal to be struck.

Bayer Leverkusen eyeing Havertz replacement

Whilst Leverkusen continue to play hardball over Havertz, though, they nevertheless appear to be planning for life without the midfielder.

According to Sky Sports journalist Angelo Mangiante, Leverkusen have identified the player whom they hope to replace Havertz with.

The man in question is Patrik Schick (who it should be noted is in fact a striker).

Czech international Schick spent last season on loan at RB Leipzig from AS Roma.
