It is pretty rare that a team confirms a signing after a player has already appeared for them in a first team, but Chelsea have done just that on Saturday.
On Saturday night, Chelsea confirmed the signing of 19-year-old Brazilian starlet Kenedy.
Most Chelsea fans probably thought Kenedy was already a confirmed signing since he had played for Jose Mourinho’s side against Barcelona in pre-season.
Kenedy told the Chelsea website: “I am very happy to complete my transfer to Chelsea. It is an exciting time for me to join the English Premier League champions and I hope I can become an important player for the club. I very much enjoyed my time with the squad during pre-season and I am very grateful to Fluminense for allowing me this opportunity.”
The former Fluminense starlet can play wide left or through the middle and with Pedro signing looks more likely to head out on loan to Vitesse Arnhem than star at Stamford Bridge in Jose Mourinho’s first team.
After picking up just one point from two games, Chelsea will be keen to get things going in the Premier League at West Brom on Sunday lunchtime.
