Chelsea confident of Thiago Silva signing but Thiago Alcantara’s move to Liverpool is more doubtful

Bayern Munich beat PSG 1-0 in the Champions League final

A solitary strike from Kingsley Coman lead Bayern Munich to their first Champions League success since 2013 as they beat PSG 1-0.

Coman headed home the winner in the final in the 58th minute following a cross from Joshua Kimmich.

Chelsea confident of Thiago Silva signing

Thiago Silva has now played his final match for PSG.

The Brazilian defender has spent eight seasons in Paris, however his contract expired following the Bayern Munich match.

After the final, Thiago Silva confirmed to France’s RMC Sport that he’d played his final match for the club:

It was my last match as PSG player. I’m sad and I’ll be back with another role in future but I have to change.

I want to play for 3-4 years more and be part of Brazil team in Qatar World Cup.

So where will Thiago Silva go next?

Now 35-years-old, Italian reporter Fabrizio Romano believes that Thiago Silva is likely to join Chelsea this summer.

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Chelsea are “confident” of signing Thiago Silva as a free agent.

Chelsea are “waiting for final answer” from the defender on whether he’s willing to move to Stamford Bridge.

Thiago Alcantara’s move to Liverpool is more doubtful

Thiago Alcantara played 86 minutes for Bayern in the Champions League final against PSG.

However, will that be the Spaniard’s final match for the Bavarians?

In recent weeks, there have been many reports linking Thiago Alcantara with a possible move to Liverpool this summer.

Indeed, yesterday the Sunday World claimed that Thiago will “declare his intention to join Liverpool” after the final.

The topic of Thiago Alcantara’s future was posed to Bayern manager Hansi Flick after the PSG match.

Flick joked that that Thiago had reversed his decision to leave the club. Flick said “(Thiago’s) told me he’s staying,” before adding:

I don’t know (where Thiago will move to) and I think he doesn’t know either. We’ll have to wait and see what will happen.
