Chelsea close to signing Brazilian winger Bernard

Chelsea’s busy final days of the summer transfer window

Chelsea look likely to be one of the busiest teams in the final days of the summer window.

This is mainly due to Maurizio Sarri replacing Antonio Conte so late in the summer with the former playing a totally different style of football to the latter.

When it comes to news of Brazilian players transferring clubs, Globoesporte are one of the most reliable sources there are.

Bernard has 12 offers, including one from Chelsea

Globoesporte reveal that Chelsea are very close to signing 25-year-old winger Bernard on a free transfer.

According to the Brazilian portal, Bernard, who is now a free agent after leaving Shakhtar Donetsk, has a raft of offers.

Chelsea are favourites to sign Bernard, despite the best efforts of Palmeiras as the winger wants to remain in Europe.

Of the 12 proposals on the table for Bernard, the Blues are clear favourites to sign the Brazilian.

Bernard “love the city of London”

Globoesporte reveal “The player really likes the club and loves the city of London, so he hopes that at the end of this negotiation he will be happy.”

Bernard is seen as a great opportunity for Chelsea, as he is available on a free transfer. In addition, he should fit in well to Maurizio Sarri’s style of football.

The list of teams that have submitted offers to Bernard is lengthy. They include: Monaco, Benfica, West Ham, Leicester City, Wolfsburg, Palmeiras and Gremio.
